HELAC SOURCING

L40-110-M-RL/RF-360-S1-C-H Rotary Actuator

The L40-110-M-RL/RF-360-S1-C-H is a heavy-duty 360-degree helical rotary actuator in the Helac L40-110 class, offered in a trunnion (RL) / rear-flange (RF) mounting configuration and rated at 3000 psi (about 207 bar), recorded in connection with RESEMIN drilling equipment. It is identified by the actuator model code rather than a separate machine part number. HM provides technical selection and sourcing / alternative-supply support and confirms the mounting style, rotation, ports and shaft against your nameplate and drawing before quotation; we do not promise stock or a pre-verified interchangeable unit from the code alone.

Code anatomy

What each part of this code means

Every segment below is read from the manufacturer’s published ordering key. Where a segment is not published, we say so instead of guessing — those are the ones to confirm from the tag or the drawing before ordering.

Rotation

What the 360° sweep changes on this build

A full-turn build: the output sweeps a complete revolution. The hose loop and its clamping have to survive the whole sweep, which is why a full-turn unit is checked as a hose-routing question as well as a torque question.

  • Check the hose loop clears the housing through the full revolution, not just at the rest position.
  • Confirm the duty actually needs a complete turn — a half-turn build of the same size is the usual choice where it does not.
  • Rotation stops, if the machine has them, sit outside the actuator and still have to be checked.

When this sweep is the right build

  • Duties that genuinely index through a full revolution — rod handling, turret positioning, continuous swing.
  • Linkages where the return path is part of the cycle rather than a reversal of the same half turn.
  • Machines already built around a full-turn hose loop, where a half-turn unit would leave the routing over-travelled.

Confirming the sweep on the machine

  • Turn the linkage through a full revolution by hand and watch the hose loop — a unit that binds at three quarters of a turn is a routing problem, not a torque problem.
  • Check whether the machine has an external rotation stop; if it does, the sweep on the tag is not the limit the linkage actually uses.

How the sweep sits in the order code

The sweep is the fifth segment of the code. Going to the half-turn build of the same size changes that segment and the internal stop tube; flange, shaft and valve stay as they are. Where a machine only needs two positions, the half-turn build is the shorter hose route and the smaller envelope.

Where these two builds get mixed up

  • A full-turn unit is sometimes quoted where the linkage only swings half a turn, which over-travels the hose loop for no benefit.
  • If a full-turn unit will not pass a quarter or half turn under load, the cause is usually hose routing or an external stop, not the actuator.

Cross referenceThis is a model-code sourcing entry for an L40-110 class 360-degree trunnion / rear-flange unit. The RL/RF mounting differs from the foot-mount (FT) L40-110 build used elsewhere on RESEMIN rigs, and the 360-degree rotation differs from the 220/185-degree FT units; these are not interchangeable. Confirm the mount and angle against your nameplate before any alternative is recommended.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the L40-110-M-RL/RF-360-S1-C-H replace?+

It is the original Helac model code for a helical hydraulic rotary actuator providing 360° rotation. HM provides sourcing and alternative-supply support for this reference; it is not assumed to be an original Helac part or a pre-verified interchangeable unit, and the configuration is confirmed against your actuator nameplate and drawing before we quote. It is listed by RESEMIN. HM can source or arrange alternative supply for this reference; mounting dimensions, shaft, ports and the exact configuration are checked against your unit and drawing before any alternative is recommended.

What does RL/RF mean in L40-110-M-RL/RF-360?+

RL denotes a trunnion (clevis/trunnion) mounting and RF denotes a rear-flange mounting in the L40-110 coding system; this reference covers the trunnion / rear-flange 360-degree build. The mounting interface differs from the foot-mount (FT) L40-110 units, so read the mount letters from your tag before ordering.

Is this the same as the L40-110-M-FT-220/185 used on other RESEMIN rigs?+

No. It is the same L40-110 frame but a different mounting style (RL/RF rather than FT) and a different rotation (360 degrees rather than 220/185 degrees). The two builds are not interchangeable; confirm the full model code, mount and angle on your nameplate.

Can HM supply the L40-110-M-RL/RF-360-S1-C-H?+

We offer selection and sourcing / alternative-supply support for this heavy-duty 360-degree trunnion / rear-flange unit. We do not claim a verified drop-in from the code alone; send the nameplate and a mounting drawing and we confirm the mount, rotation, shaft and ports before quoting.

Why is the exact HM model and price not shown?+

We confirm the HM model per inquiry after verifying the interface and operating parameters with you. This avoids shipping a part that looks right by model name but differs in mounting or rotation. Price is provided with that confirmed quote.
